Catharine has variously worked as a waitress, shop assistant, general office employee, church lay worker and accountant before taking up a career as the wife of a doctor. Her husband’s paediatric expertise has helped with the many trials and tribulations of raising two children. In her lack of spare time she enjoys playing the cello, watching cricket, preaching and winning at board games, but not all at once.
For those who know me, and those who don’t
It happens every time I book accommodation, or buy insurance, or reserve tickets.
“Let me take down your details,” the person will say on the other end of the phone. “Catharine – is that with a C or a K?”
“C,” I respond dutifully.
And when I reach my destination, or the details come in the post, or I arrive at the box office, sure enough: there I am, typed into the system.
Catherine.
“Catharine,” my head screams silently. “CathArine. With an A!”
